POSITION TITLE:

TIME INVOLVEMENT / DURATION OF APPOINTMENT:
This is a full-time,
year-round, staff position. The ACA
operates on a fiscal year, May 1 – April 30.
The contract is for one fiscal year and is renewable annually, on May 1.
LOCATION:
Primary work location
is at the ACA Headquarters in Platte City, MO.
Travel to the Junior National, the National Show in Louisville, the
National Western in Denver and the Southwestern Livestock Exposition in Ft.
Worth is required, with additional travel to state fairs, state shows and beef
expos as requested.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Duties
of this position include overall responsibility for planning, coordinating and
conducting ACA Shows and Activities and serving as Advisor to the American Junior
Chianina Association and its Board of Directors. The Shows & Activities
Director coordinates the shows at the Junior National, the ACA National Shows,
the National Western and the Southwestern Exposition in Ft. Worth, and all
activities surrounding those events. The
AJCA Advisor oversees the workings and development of the junior board and is responsible
for coordinating all contests, events and activities at the National Junior
Heifer Show and cooperating with the host state.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture,
education or youth development
- Event planning experience, preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word,
Excel, Access and Power Point
- Good communication skills;
ability to oversee, mentor and direct junior board
- Good writing skills
- Proficient in email program
- Ability to travel
- Proficient in corresponding
through email and social media networks
- Ability to interact and work with
youth and adults.
BENEFITS:
A
benefits package including: Health Insurance, $20,000 accidental death,

SALARY:
The Director of Shows
& Activities receives an annual salary, commensurate with qualifications
and experience. Cost of living and merit
raises will be considered at the time of the employee’s annual review and
evaluation.
